Dancing Queen
This weekend Turner and I went with my parents to go to Patrick and Lanie's house for Lanie's Nursing School Graduation and to give the kids a chance to play together a bit. She was really excited about the trip all week and had a great time. We took the RV and on the way down we stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch. Afterward lunch, we were roaming around the store while we waited and the song above came on.
As a bit of back story, Tuan plays this song for Turner a lot at home and they dance together like crazy people. They have a blast.
So...when this song came on, she recognized it immediately and said, "Let's Dance". She found an open spot in the store and danced her little heart out for the entire song. As she danced a little group of people gathered to watch and miss shyness wasn't phased a bit. She kept on dancing! When the song ended she clapped and was so happy! As we left the store, she waved back in the doors and said, "bye music".
Turner was a trooper on the trip, even when we decided to drive home late Friday night instead of staying over another night. She tried so hard to sleep in the car seat but couldn't get comfortable. She would make some little whiny noises, but never really made a big fuss. She finally fell asleep about 11pm about 10 minute before we arrived at our destination, and I was able to transfer her to a bed in the RV without her waking up too much! This is great news, we have always been so careful about not disrupting her sleep because it is always so hard to get her back down, so it is good to know that it can go very smoothly.
Saturday while Turner and I were enjoying our dinner on the patio, she started doing "Here's the church, Here's the Steeple..." and at the end she put her hands back together and said quickly, "Dear God, Thank you for a fun day", then she started giggling. I guess her first attempt at a prayer made her laugh.
