Day out with Thomas

On June 11, 2010 we spent the day with Thomas the Tank Engine at Tweetsie Railroad. We went with Deacon, my parents and Woolie, Linda and Madison (friends of mom and dad's). It was so much fun. We camped the night before at a great little campground in Boone called Flintlock Campground. Unfortunately the night before our day at Tweetsie, Deacon was standing beside the creek and got bitten by a snake. He was really upset, understandably, and because no one saw the snake to identify it mom and dad took him to the ER. The doctor's all agreed that he had snake bites (one on each foot) and that it most likely wasn't a poisonous snake because there are only 2 types of poisonous snakes in the area and they weren't likely to be at the creek bank at that time of day. They kept him for a bit just in case and since there was no swelling or reaction he was able to come back and have a great time with Turner.

The day at Tweetsie was actually well worth the price of the ticket. The rides were great for the kids and Turner rode everything. She loved the chair lift, the airplanes, the boats and the carousel the most. She enjoyed feeding the goats and deer straight from her hand and she LOVED taking a ride on "big Thomas". She still tells us about the smoke that came out of Thomas and his "eyes moving". When we boarded the train for our ride right after we first arrived, she looked out the window and said, "All Aboard, All Aboard, People". She had a smile on her face the entire time.

She left with a Thomas Cup and T-shirt, and one for her fellow Thomas fan friend, Aidan.

We camped again that night and left early Saturday to join Tuan for swim lessons. Later that afternoon, Deacon, Mom and Dad came over for lunch and we spent the afternoon letting Deacon and T play in the sprinkler and kiddie pool after naps. They had so much fun! They plan together so well and love each other so much. Seems they can't get enough hugs.
