So Dichotomous

As she approaches 2, Turner is such a strange dichotomy. Most of the time she is an absolute pleasure and so much fun to watch as she figures things out and learns new words and concepts. It is so fun to watch her put things together and make sense of them! She is an absolute hoot and joy to be around, but there have been some challenging times too. There are days where NO is her absolutely only word or even worse when she will simply cry when she is not getting her way. She has had some challenging mornings where getting dressed makes her more mad than anything and dropping her off at daycare is full of trauma for both Turner and her daddy who can't stand to leave her as she screams after him. She settles quickly though, and her tantrums are never too long or too extreme, but it is not fun when she has them. For now, I am going to continue to count my blessings that my almost two year old little girl is a shear delight to be around 99.9% of the time, and hopefully she'll grow out of the .1% really soon!

Here are some really fun and great things that Turner has said or loves to do lately:
  • Turner has spent quite a bit of time lately with her granny and papaw due to me being sick and some things Tuan and I were doing for Valentine's Day. While visiting him the last time, she pointed to the bag he had been transporting items to and from my grandmother's house in and said, "Papaw's purse". Too cute!
  • Turner learns things very quickly. If you ask her who Lulu's (child in her class) daddy is, she will say "Rob" or sometimes "Bob", but that's close enough! If you ask her who Becca's mom is, she says "Erin". If you ask her what her name is she says, "Turner" then if I say "Mai" (the start of her middle name", she finishes her middle name and adds her last name! She learned her full name one night at dinner!
  • She loves to "tell secrets", even though she knows lots of words, when she tells secrets she simply whispers gibberish into your ear and puts her hands up to her mouth and wiggles her fingers, very cute!
  • Turner loves to play follow the leader and is a great leader. She has us do such things run (her favorite), fall down (another favorite), chairs (where everyone finds a chair to sit in), wiggle, crawl, robot (walk like a robot), round (turning around) and more. It is so much fun, and if she catches you not doing something she is quick to add an instruction like, "C'mon Daddy, Run"!
  • Turner loves to point out babies, mommas and daddies. For example, if she sees a little fish and two big ones in a picture it is baby, momma and daddy. She also loves to identify people. For example, when I pick her up from school she points and me and says "My Momma", and then points to everyone else and identifies them for me!
